Tamron 17-50mm non VC, street shots

All the shots are straight from camera (JPG) without photoshop or any sharpened. It is very good quality. I believe this lens has a very good sharpness even wide open at the middle. Just the extreme border is a bit soft. But is is hardly noticeable. If you want perfect image quality stopping down to F/4 is very sharp. It even beats the canon 17-40mm F/4. So why waste money on 17-40mm L lens?
If you are going to upgrade to full frame later. I believe 17-40mm F/4 is still not a recommended choice. With a decent camera body like canon 550D you and tamron F/2.8 you can really take good picture with good bokeh if you want. of course at 50mm wide open is abit soft. But who cares if the bokeh is good?
